To make the celebration of the Chinese New Year come to life, we created the large dragon to carry in a parade through the elementary school. Our students were very busy creating their section with their friends.

Learning about Penguins

In January we studied the polar regions. In the southern hemisphere we discovered there were as many as 17 different penguins. We learned about these penguins by reading nonfictional books and watching many video clips. We learned about the appearance and size of penguins, drew them and made reports to our class.

We compared the sizes of the penguins. Some of them were almost as tall as a kindergartner.

Thanksgiving Feast

In November after learning about Native Americans and Pilgrims, we are all dressed up and ready for our Thanksgiving feast.

Centers in Kindergarten

Center time is a favorite part of kindergarten. We make our own choices, play with our friends and have a great time.

Mrs. Kilgore Learns about Kindergarten

Mrs. Kilgore was a student teacher in kindergarten for 8 weeks. She taught us math, reading and discovery. We learned lots from her and taught her many things too. We hope that she loved us as much as we loved her. You will be an excellent teacher Mrs. Kilgore.
